Had no problems since last August but now signal/parring light is solid and@ light is flashing slowly,no phone light.Had alot of downloads recently(1st time) so may be over limit.Started flashing half way though a download (so that failed).Have I been cut off? Switched Livebox off and on a number of times to reset it but same result everytime, also left it off a couple of days before turning back on but still 1 light on & @ flashing..Been down 4 days now.....
Browse to 192.168.1.1 and see what status it's showing. As long as it's not link down then click the link and log in with "admin" as the username and password. Go into Services > Internet and re-enter and submit your username and password. Let us know what happens to the status and the @ light.
Hi Elhanna
Browsed to 192.168.1.1 to find PPP server down, logged on anyway to services > internet, link said enable which i did, then said disconected from internet. The page kept going back to the PPP server down page. Status & light stayed the same.It looks like i have been cut off (to me at least). So whats next have i got to call customer services or wait till next month till my download limit starts agian.Been off over a week now....
Thats not a cut off, it's an error. If your service had been suspended then it would be a different message and you'd usually know about it as they specifically contact people who they're suspending service or terminating.
At this point call them and they should go through a number of diagnostics and then test the line.
Hi Elhana
I did as you said & called customer services, spoke to a nice lady in India.Did all the normal stuff (plug everything out, plug everything in,livebox reset, line test) only to be to that there is work being done on the line & it will take 24 hrs, so status & @ light still the same.Already been down since the 4th of Jan.I seem to have read this reply from Orange many times on these very problem pages.Surely must be another way?
Hi there
No internet now for almost 2 weeks. The 24 hrs came & went (now over 80hrs) and still down.Sent email to Orange as of yet no reply. It looks like another phone call is due to customer services (and another reset). My contract is up at the end of January so I am thinking of switching ISP.Do I have to wait till then or can I ask for a MAC code now?
Still down even though i have done factory resets every day.Had a reply to my email to Orange and they say your line is under provisioning period. What does that mean?
One other thing, i have looked at BTs problem page & that is just like these, full of problems and people complaining about the service so not sure if changing to them would be any better.
Had a reply to my email to Orange and they say your line is under provisioning period. What does that mean?
Hmm, would mean it's showing the line as still in the process of being connected. Either it's not updated correctly or it's in the process of being moved to LLU.
As for the MAC, you can request that at anytime. Using it before the end and without agreement from Orange will get you charged with any remaining contract fee. Also if the line is in the process of migrating to LLU say then you won't be able to get a MAC until that completes.
Thanks Elhanna
So what now? is it back to customer services to do another line test or do i need to call B.T and ask them to check the line.I'm getting a bit stuck with this now, because everytime i get told to do factory reset (done about 14 so far)
Ask if your line is IPStream or LLU, if LLU does it show as completed.
Once completed if it hasn't already, or if it's on IPStream, then line tests should help find the problem.
Just remember if you look at any of the larger ISP's problems pages all you normally will see are lots of problems. That in itself doesn't mean they're instantly as bad or worse as it just gives a one sided view.
Hi there
spoke to Orange line is LLU and is active (they say).Went through the reset the Livebox thing again, theyre doing another line test (though they have no record of the one done on 13th Jan) this one will take 5 days & 17 hrs.Not very impressed when already been down 20 days.
A letter of complaint will be on its way tomorrow.Spoke to BT while i was at it to ask if any problems (all clear) on the line.So all in all no further on I'm afraid. Still PPP server down & still solid parring light & slow flashing @ light.
Hi got a call back on Friday 25th to ask if connection was back up (which it still isnt) guy said the problem was proberbly at the exchange, said the line has most likely gone mad (his words not mine). So why dont they go and fix it? Then on Sat Orange called to see if I wanted to upgrade (are they real). All I want is some Broadband/Internet service..Letter of complaint sent to Head Office but I dont expect things to change.
