Can this be turned off? I called Orange and they said would turn off in 24 hours (customer service is rubbish!!). It did not turn off so called again this time they said it jjust can not be turned off. What is correct?
I contacted Orange to do the same. After a short time they transferred me to another dept (though I think it was the BT service desk) who then took the action to switch off the 1571. They advised it would take up to 24hrs to take effect and I can confirm it is no longer available on my line.
As a new 'home max' customer, I have also been exploring this home phone question. I have an answerphone and never use caller I.d., but I note that both the 1571 & caller I.D. are supplied free as part of the package for the first 6 months...
Does anyone know a) how much they cost after this b)whether you can you opt not to have them and so not be charged?
I suppose I could make a long call to 0870 customer support at my expense, but I thought I might get more sense here.
P.S. The link in the post above takes you to options for your second line (voip), not the home phone line.
