Hi Guys
Firstly i would like to say what a great forum. Lots of helpfull info here for everyone and anyone.
I have a slight problem. I was wondering whether i need to contact Orange or not so hopefully you guys can tell me.
I have connected my PS3 to my bb using a siemens wireless router without any trouble whatsoever.using the Ethernet cable. Im a bit of a computer nerd as its my day job and the ps3 is how i unwind. Firewall on ports opened for online gaming!
Can connect to all EA games online hat i have accept 1.Fight night 3. It worked initially when my bb was a week old, now its on its 3rd week and i cant connect to any of the lobbies. Got in touch with EA about it they suggested opening more ports and gave me a list. Opened them all still didnt work. Their next suggestion was to turn the firewall off on my router. So i done that still not connecting online on FN3. their next suggestion was that my ISP must have blocked the ports that FN3 uses.
Would this be right do you think??? Would it be working 1 week and then not the next???
I have tried the usual stuff fixed IP etc
Any ideas before i have to spend £35 on call to Orange for them to tell me that they cant do it from India and then give me a different premium rate number to call.lol????
is there an email address for tech support at Orange???
Maybe i could do it through that channel??
Any help on this would be grately appreciated guys and gals.
Sorry to have blabbled on a bit.lol just wanted to give you as much info as i could.
Why cant Orange ever answer a direct question???lol
I emailed Orange yesterday with a question which was...
i am trying to play a game online called fight night round3. Previously it worked when my internet was first connected. Then i was unable to log in to it. I have emailed and had a reply from EA and Playstation network. Both Companies have advised me to do various tasks relating to my PS3 and my router for eg. Port forwarding to certain ports.
What i would like to know is do you block any of the following ports.
then i listed the ports that EA have told me to forward for FN3.
The reply i got back was we do not support PS3 if you follow the link you will find some helpfull information there.
They then pointed me to a link about connecting your PS2 to playstation network..?????????
I have now emailed Orange again and said to them that i have not asked for them to support my PS3 i only wish to know if they are blocking these ports on my BB connection or not!
I was little ratty.lol
Anyway i will keep you posted on how it develops.
(i bet they try to get me to upgrade to livebox)
lol
You say that EA thought the ports FN3 uses may be blocked, do you know which ports these are and check if they're open ?
I know the ports and i have checked using my router that they are open i have also tried not being behind my firewall to see if that helps and it doesnt.
I emailed Orange again as i checked on dates and the date it stopped working is the day they were making adjustments to my network? to see if i could gain a faster speed.
I think they have made some changes to this and i told them this and they catagoricly told me that they had not made any changes and that if my other games were working fine then they didnt see how it was their problem. Dont they understand that each game uses different ports for gaming???????
Anyway im just going to give up on this game for now and try it again at a later date. If i dont get anywhere i will let my contract run is course and then change provider.
Please help I am having the exact same problem as this, tried opening ports, turning off my firewall, dmz mode but nothing.
EA seem to have a problem with Orange, my Medal of Honor take ages to connect and I got no joy at all with Team Fortess 2 until I tried it with another PSN user login. I would try logging in to the EA servers again under a new PSN login (I have a secondry login for the US PS store as they get demo etc. earlier than us). Let me know if this works!
I have since decided i would go through the wireless device to connect my PS3 to my internet connection so i set it all up and got it working without any hitches at all..... (lightbulb went on) what will not work now!!!!!
To my amazement all my games work including FIGHT NIGHT 3 which i was amazed at. My wife came home from work one morning after working a night shift and i told her i had connected up the ps3 wirelessly. She said have you tried your boxing game which i replied no point love as it wont work anyway. She said go on try and low and behold it worked. I cant believe it. The only thing i have found that is different on my wireless connection to my wired connection is that uPNP is enabled so this might or might not be the reason as why it wasnt working. I just dont know anymore lol.
thanks for all your help on this forum and i hope my reply has helped also.
So if you are suffering with a game that wont connect using your wired router connection then go wireless and see if still wont work.
