Moved into new place on 19th Oct
Placed Orange Home order
ADSL active
Line has dial tone, no incomming or outgoing calls accepted though
Phoned Orange to check progress as not able to make/receive calls
Orange say BT rejected the order as line is classed as 'not working', I must contact BT BT say Orange can get the line activated through BT wholesale (they are no allowed to stop Orange taking over or activating the line) OR I can sign up with BT for 12 months and get activated within hours
Orange then say yes they can, but have had to place another order with BT Wholesale/provisioning
So if anyone works at BT, or Orange (must have spoken to everyone in Delhi by now) how the hell can I end up with Orange as the provider, and a working line and how quick? I have zero mobile service in this new area (Orange ), so in an emergency I'd be stuffed!
Of course any help in getting things done quicker thanks to an insider would be greatly appreciated
Home Max (home phone line, home phone calls and broadband)
*
check that a fixed line (not cable) will be available at your new address
*
if there isn’t already a BT fixed line at your new house, call us to arrange installation of a line two weeks before your moving date
*
we'll advise you of any costs that will be incurred
*
we'll then give you an installation date and your new phone number
*
if there’s already a fixed phone line at your new house, call us 10 days before your moving date to arrange for your phone to be switched off at your current house and a new line to be connected at your new one
*
once your new phone line's connected and has been active for more than 48 hours, we'll arrange the transfer of your broadband from your old address to your new one
Now, although I didn't have Orange before, surely this gives hope that they CAN actually get lines enabled by BT - despite what they told me yesterday??
Now I'm getting really annoyed.
I've been an Orange Mobile customer since they started, and their support, especially for a new product, is dire.
smart answer ... but not the answer the person was lookin for as u can notice ...
complains arent gonna help ... now i guess ... u moved into a new house ... and took a Orange package with their line for first time ... if u were smart .. u wud have noticed that the requirements for brand new customers to the home max package states clear ...
u have to hav an existing landline ... if not .. they will not provision one for u ... only applicable for brand new customers ...
it dusnt hurt to read t & c 's
nw .. as to wht u kin do ... if u were with BT before ... get them to activate line ... means u might be in 3 month contract ... go for home starter package instead ... shud be able to upgrade later on ...
if 12 month ... not much of a choice ... take home starter or home select .. shud be ok for u ...
not so cheap .. but .. then again ... u shud have checked....

sorry bruh
We besides your complete lack of the english language, tell me where, oh wise guru, it CLEARLY states you must have a working BT line?
I've been through the Terms and conditions and relevant pages for Home Phone, home Select, and Home max with a senior person within Orange Home and NOWHERE does it state this.
What IS stated, is under section 2 and again in section 11 regarding Orange charging you a fee IF your line is not connected to a provider and Orange have to connect it. As the same terms also clearly show that you can take your Orange phone service with you, Orange do have the ability on their BT wholesale package to get lines activated - as it's alegal requirement that when someone moves out their services stop and the line is classified as non-working (not to be confused with a stopped line which means it is physically removed from the BT network = no dial tone). Mine is def a Non-working line meaning it IS connected to the exchange, but no provider assigned.
And Orange Bod has kicked ass within BT as I have the impossible. Orange have ADSL working on the line, yet BT continue to classify the line as non working - something which we agree is impossible and means:
Either BT are deliberately messing up in the hope I'll loose patients and go to them
or
Orange screwed up the ordering and no order was ever placed.
When pushed the Orange bod said there was no record of an order ever being placed BTBT openworld/Orange despite numerous mentions of rejected orders. A real rejected order would clearly state why.
So I've given them 48 hours to resolve or else. I've signed up to a contract with Orange, and they are billing me for Home Max. I have had no formal notification (email or letter) of their issues so to me that constitutes that they are failing to uphold their obligations to me.
This gives me the right to wall away from all services and get them to provide me with a MAC code and I'll take my business elsewhere.
Seriously their phone support for the BT wholesale product is dire. No-one knows anything about it, and as they will be your support line (via 150) - I eagerly await the day when you get issues.
I'll then remind you of your words in other posts you've made.
Your post rings a bell or NOT! I have a similar problem all of a sudden we have no phones working on home max not even a dial tone but the broadband is still live but at 50% speed ie 3.1. Could this be BT doing a sabotage job?
While it's always possible BT could be involved I highly doubt they will be doing anything like that purposefully. If it was proved they would be in so much hot water and the press along with all the other ISP's would have a field day.
It's not just me then! I have been brushed off, bullshitted and lied to by Orange Customer couldn't Care less. Everything is BT's fault. My advice to any potential subscriber is DON'T!!!
