My connection and speed is fine !
But it's always worthwhile stating where you are and even better what exchange.
I had a letter about a month ago saying as i had downloaded 41 GB one month my speed maybe capped. I have had 3 emails from Orange confirming there limit is 50GB and nowhere on there site does it state a limit. I phoned about this and was told i wouldn't be capped but it was a warning. i was asked to write and forward the 3 emails. the reply i got was useless.
It seems they have capped my speed but being inefficient as usual they have capped it permanently instead of the 6pm til midnight, Typical rubbish Orange.
After a couple of waste of time calls to customer support I have got my MAC and have joined Sky, hopefully in the next 2 weeks Orange will be long gone.
I have done a BT speedtest and it said my line profile was 500kb/s. Orange confirmed it was capped, but they have made an error and need to do a line test, there stock answer, to why it's capped all the time.
I would tend to agree and i stated that with them. i said the line is fine as I was getting 5-6mb before the weekend, it's their cap that has been put on permanently and not the 6pm-midnight it's meant to be. Even tried to suggest it was the pc,haha.
I just said go ahead with the line test and then got my MAC code over the phone.
Everything went well with Sky. Should get the equipment in 5 days or so and activated in around 10. Gone for the mid package but at least i can then pay an extra fiver for the max, 250Gb, if I use alot and not be capped.
Went for the talk freetime package, so have phone, ytv and broadband from them now for £43 a month.
