i had no idea Orange caused so many problems. I have had 8mb max broadband since 26th October, can i cancel it as it has been less then 30 days, is there a 'cooling off' period?

getting 18 month contract for £24 per month and 1st payment is due 26/11
have connection speed of 100mb, but download speeds of say, on average 100-200kbps

Normally once the broadband is activated then you're officially into the contract. The starter package used to have a 30 day money back period but it looks like that's gone from the new starter package.

I thought it was a month in advance so the first payment should have been requested as soon at the broadband was activated.

The connection speed will be for your wired connection, that usually will always be 100mb. The line conneciton is the bottleneck usually, if you can run a BT speedtest and that will reveal more.
