Generally it's best not to mess with anything in the first 10 days as it would potentially mess around with the MSR which could cause problems later on if there's a speed problem.
Once the 10 days are up what I'd do is note down the line stats and rates from the livebox system info page, connect up the other router and see if that shows much different. There shouldn't normally be much difference but different makes, models, and individual boxes can act differently at times.
use the lb dont use ur own router cos its not supported and cant put through effective line test if u get a problem when u use ur own, the speed the lb give you is not ur connecion speed its ur sync speed, the lb doesnt give download speed
make sure u disable firewalls and use main phone socket and remove all other equipment in phone line for true result, trust me it works better in some cases, was on Orange tech
You can use whatever you like, just keep the livebox as a backup if you choose a different router.
Keep the router as a backup if you need to call tech support when your line goes dead. They won't support you unless you can tell them the pattern of the lights on the livebox
