my speed average is about 2mb since i upgraded to livebox.
but last week for 3 days i can only have 138kbps max. after 3 days it went up again to 2mb.
now its happening again this is the second day i have just 138kbps
i am a little far from the exchange which is a adsl max.
what's the number to connect to the right people to Orange?
this is very annoying...
help pls Elhana....
You're downstram attenuation is high - are you a long way from the exchange?
Are all your extensions filtered properly?
about 2 miles form the exchange... i think i have filtered it properly since i have at least 2mb constant speed before this happened 2 weeks ago. i'll put new filter in to check this.
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 135 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 160 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 51 kbps

When you say the same result do you mean the speedtest result?
If so then you need to recheck the stats like you did before.
If the wiring doesn't alter the downstream rate or attainable then it's a real line fault. As the varying between 160 and over 2272 kbps shows there's something really wrong. After the wiring check you'll need to get onto Orange about a line test.
I can't see from the thread that you have tested by connecting directly to the BT linebox test socket which is behind the lower frontplate (do not use a filter)

Using a filter shouldn't cause any problems there, though it's best to try two to rule them out. Also a lot of people won't have a spare BT <-> RJ11 cable that would be needed to connect it directly.

I quite often test without a filter. However Elhana has a valid point. The other thing to remember is that if you use a cable that did not not come with the modem/router it might not be wired correctly.
For those who don't understand the filter acts on the phone side only the connection to modem/router is straight through.

Thats a much better connection! The speed and test result won't go up immediately as the system needs a length of stability before it increases the profile.
There's one more step to this. You need to leave it there for sometime and regulary check what the livebox shows for the downstream rate.
If it stays the same then thats the ideal result, it means it's your phone wiring causing the problem. A little bit of variation is ok but the longer it stays the same the more stable it should be. If it drops down to 160 again in this setup it means the problem is likely external and would need a line fault raising.
