This is a problem with a friends PC (winXP) that i'm trying to solve, hope someone here can shed a bit of light on.
The 330 has been installed via the Orange set-up disk before, no problems. For whatever reason, my mate uninstalled it, upon reinstalling the modem (again via the Orange disk) the program hangs when its trying to install the modem. I have got the 330 drivers direct from the Thompson site and tried to install them on their own, but its saying that a newer version of the drivers already exists.
I have used the uninstall from both the driver package and add/remove programs, but still i'm getting the same result.
There are no folders or references to either speetouch/thompson/alcatel, nothing, yet i'm getting the same result saying that newer drivers exist.
I've run CCleaner to try and flush any registry entries to no avail.
I did manage to get the modem up and running using the 64bit drivers, but how do I get it to work manually with Orange's settings?

Double click on My computer then from the top of the window click Tools > Folder Options > choose the View Tab and scrol down to Hidden Files and Folders and put a dot in "Show Hidden Files and Folders click Apply > OK, then do go to Start > Search and do a search and delete what it finds to do with the modem, dont forget to do the reverse fter to hide hidden fils again.

Hidden files, etc probably won't bring up much.
Another option is to go through the control panel into system, hardware tab, select device manager. Expand network adapters and look for speedtouch, if you find anything for it right click and uninstall. After that there may be another listing straight in the list, right click and uninstall that too.
If you get any found new hardware popping up just cancel it.
Once done unplug, uninstall any software for it you can find, restart and try again. That ought to clear things out so you can start fresh.
