HELP!!!!!!! If anyone can offer any advice I would be very grateful. My Dad took out the connect to Orange broadband offer when they offered £300 off any laptop in PCWorld if you connect to Orange so he signed up.
He connected his modem to the PC and installed but got the error username password invalid. After checking multiple times with customer services and the awful tech support it appeared that they had activated the wrong line. This was corrected over a month ago but now he still gets the same error.
I have spoken to customer services who ensure me the line is activated, I have tried different modems, re-installation of the software on his PC and laptop and still get the same error. Technical support actually refused to help last night as they said 'they could not help us further due to a problems with their system connecting to the line?' again customer services said there was no issue. The error he gets in the event log is 'the remote access server refused the connection please contact your ISP' Money is being taken out of his account and has been for 3 months. Customers services won't help and technical support won't help. He has spent more on tech support calls than the actual cost for broadband. Previosuly Tiscali has been working swimmingly for 2 years. Is there anything we can do?????
Go to customer services, then ask for escalations department, if they won't give you that number then ask for cancellations
Tell them your story and then say that you have been off for over 30days. You then have the right to cancel the contract for free. Then ask for a MAC code over the phone - not through the mail. Then get on to a new provider ASAP and give them the MAC code.
