Hi,iam having connection problems, all is ok during the day modem stays connected, but come 6pm and onwards nothing ,when i try to connect all i get is no dial tone,i have spoken with their so called Tech support ,they say it must be my internal connections,i say what a load of bull***t. how come it works all day and not on a nigh time.i am on 2Mb starter pack as they call it, and my modem is a SpeedTouch 330 usb,has anybody else had this type of problem.
Basically Orange are clearly telling you an absolute load of lies - like they normally do.
If it's working all day and then going off after 6 PM then it's their network.
I suggest moving to a real ISP, away from this disgrace.
After moving over a year ago I have never had a connection problem since with Idnet.
I'm having a similar problem. Ok connection between 6 am and 10 pm. At 10pm on the dot the connection drops and then becomes erratic. I know it's not the PCs as i have 2 connected and both go off line at the same time. Luckily i've got my MAC and am just waiting for the migration to complete.
I noticed that there are problems when most people is online and they do know it, it is just a matter of adding more channels to avoid ADSL traffic to a halt!
I woek online all the time and fortunately at work it generally is fine, but at home (yes I pay for 2 adsl!) it disconnects between 12/1pm, 4/5pm 21/20:30.

There are plenty of good ISP's and with 1 to 3 months contracts check out the ISP ratings list Here and read all the comments on each ISP believe me you will soon know who's bad and whos good.

You know what hurts the most, apart from the lousy connections?
The fact that months ago or even a year (I do not remember) they lowered the basic plan from £. 17.99 to £. 14.99 and did not email any of their customers to re-apply in order to get the 'same' deal at a better price, but in practice they 'forced you' to re-apply and obliged to get a new contract and have to be with the at least for 12 months which I believe is unlawful as they are offering exactly the same service and I was only applying to be able to get the 'right at the time' price and not being stolen £. 3 more for nothing.
Should I call OFT about it and force them to offer a MAC to get out of the contract without paying any penalties?
mmm!
ADDITION
I just logged in on Orange and on clicking the @change Your Package I get this:

Hi,since my last post i have contacted Orange five times regarding no connection after teatime, they finally said there is a problem with the line, this was supposed to have been fixed within 24hrs that was on the 17Th Oct,last night at around 22.00hrs they phoned me to say they had not had the report from BT and that i should have to wait five days,by then the problem should have been resolved if not to phone them back, round and round in bl**dy circles, what would happen if i just canceled my payments, would they really take me to court?? oh last night my connection held out till 22.10 before going dead, ten minuets after putting the phone down on Orange Tech
On Saturday worked really well! Then I received a phone call (ex-directory phone) and asked my wife to tell them I did not want to speak with them.
On Sunday too! Very strange.
Then I received an email telling me to reply with the questions asked (just to check it was me) and then they would go on with the MAC code.
I did not reply yet.
After that, another email saying they were going to send me a MAC code within 5 days.
Then this morning again asking that personal info for checking and at the end of the email there was written:
We would request you speak to our Broadband Customer Support Team with
regards to the penalty charges on the number 0870 010 2462 with IVR
options 1 and 4(Line open from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week,calls are
charged at National rates).

In other words there is a penalty then!
Since it is working and I am tired of all this, I am obliged to stay until the end of the contract (the one that does not exist).
ORANGE, are you reading this? Nice advertising you are doing !
