I'm 4+ kilometers from the nearest BT exchange so only get Orange broadband 576mbs/s. Initially huge problems with adsl synchronisation which ended when I fitted an adslnation xte-2005 faceplate to the BT master socket. (By the way had to take Orange to 3rd party arbitration before I could get any sense out of them - then they were marvelous!!) This obviously meant that the problem was with the internal extension wiring. Worked perfectly for 3 to 4 months then the old problem returned ie intermittent failure to synchronise. Less frequent than before but can still last hours particularly at weekends or evenings. Sometimes cured by accessing the BT line via the master socket, occassionally not. Can somebody suggest a way forward? No better with a new xte-2005 filter. I simply cannot face Orange technical help service!!! Is the problem with BT or Orange?
Sync problems are between the modem/router and exchange. Unless you're on LLU, I presume not with the 576kbps sync speed as LLU uses 608, then Orange only are responsible for the modem/router. It can be hard to tell if that's at fault when it's working intermittantly.
Sounds like it's a signal problem if trying from the master socket helps sometimes. If you've ruled out the wiring and filter then it's something that'll need a line test to look into and get it sorted out, for that you'll need to call tech support.
Just for a second I thought I had written your post as your problem seems identical to mine. Just like you I cannot face Orange technical support anymore. Just waiting for my contract to run its term and I am off (if I can wait that long) Orange is OK as long as you don't need support.
Sorry I can't be any help but just to let you know you are not alone.
