Finally got my MAC from Orange, took 20 days mind. But I'm free and fingers crossed, my life will be so much better now.
See ya, and thanks for all the invaluable advice and info this site, and its members have provided.

This is a good example of breach of contract. Their Contract Terms & Conditions state :-
"17.12 In order to transfer your service to a different provider you need to request a MAC Code from us that you should give to your new broadband provider. You can request to receive the MAC Code by email or letter. We aim to provide the MAC Code to you within 5 working days of your contacting us."

I know but the problem was I requested it 5 days before my exchange was to be LLU'd, meaning it would have been worthless. Unfortunately the LLU migration took longer than they anticipated (no great surprise there), and in all fairness to them they supplied my MAC as soon as they could.
Funny thing was, no one tried to talk me out of it and only one person asked why I wanted to leave Orange.
As soon as I explained that a 30% drop in upload speed could hardly be considered as an upgrade there were no arguments or complaints.
