Hi Kaje
Bethere is ok ive had no problems with them at all, they did have a offer of free connection but i think thats finished now if it has i believe if you order through Quidco you get the connection fee back or something like that Google it.
If you join Be you get a free wireless router to use.
Good luck with whoever you choose

although you have to use their router don't you as they only allow their specific MAC address to connect, since you don't have to supply a login and password
Steve
Do you use that firmware that you mentioned a while for this? I looked at Netgear's own kb for this and they mention spoofing it to be the same as your PC, but
a) this option isn't available
b) the computer MAC wouldn't be any use either

Just read ur post again sweeperdog
a)the option is only available if on the basic settings page you check the option "No" "Does your internet connection require a login?" then the page changes and its at the bottom.
b)No it has to be the MAC address on the bottom of the BeBox in my case.

Ah thanks very much for that. It doesn't seem to mention it in the help on the right hand side
If anything came out of that I upgraded my firmware to the latest release. Although I was worried for a moment, because it appeared to updating for about an hour without rebooting, so I took the brave step of hitting the Cancel button. I guess cos I was using firefox and should probably have used IE. From looking at the router "up time" it had been up 45 minutes, so I am not too worried

I always use FireFox and not had any problems, do you mean it was upgrading the firmware for an hour? it should only take about 3 minutes, was you connected through ethernet? also its handy to download the recovery utility before upgrading if you havn't already just in case.

Yeah the spinning egg timer was spinning all the time
I was connected via the LAN cable, but the one thing I did do, which was probably wrong, was to unplug the ADSL/telephone cable from the back of the router
I may give it another try now I have found the recovery tool, although the link on this http://kbserver.netgear.com/pr...G834GT.asp page takes me to the "DG834v1, DG834v2, DG834Gv1 and DG834Gv2 Router Recovery Utility"

The best thing to do is to turn off the firewall on your pc and make sure you dont use anything while its upgrading also do a back up of your router configuration just in case the upgrade loses them it rarely does but just a precaution the upgrade should take less than 3 minutes
What firmware you using at present?
Yes thats the right recovery tool to use if you need it
