Connection is no problem , I connect at 4 Mbps, but since last Friday any downloads are now very slow - ie 60 Kb/sec, before the average was about 250 Kb/sec. Has anyone any suggestions or the same problem ?, I have not made any adjustments, but I did get a note from Orange saying I was being upgraded to 6.5 Mbps. I live in West london.

My download sync speed had been 4 Mbps since an exchange upgrade
a few months ago. I first noticed a collapse from this speed on Monday
this week, and I suspect the LLU kit in my exchange was tampered with
on Sunday because that's when they tend to alter ADSL settings.
My speed now hovers around 1.3 Mbps. My exchange is Leytonstone.
I've had degradation before for as much as two weeks and then the speed
has increased again. Serves me right: I should've asked for my MAC code
to move elsewhere when it wouldn't have had much impact on me.
I am new to broadband and to this forum I have signed up to Orange 8mb but the actual speed that i am getting is getting from acceptable i.e. 1400kbps (was on dial up before!!) to quite tedious average speed of 631kbps. Did a speed test and it said my IP profile is 1250, my download speed is 1056 and upload is 448.
None of this make any sense to me except it seems no way near 8mb in real life. I just installed Norton 360 and it seems my broadband was slower after that. not sure if that's psychological!!
Could someone advise me what I should do next other than switching ISP to enable me to get faster connection? Thank you
Thanks for helping out but how do i get the router stats? Sorry but am a bit of a novice.
Go to where your router config. page is, usually something like http://192.168.1.1 or similar, sign-on is usually a default admin+admin. All the data listed under ADSL is needed. Don't forget the BT speedtest as well.

I emailed Orange yesterday complaining about the slow speed. Today suddenly I'm back to 450/500 Kps !!, I had no reply from them, but it looks a bit suspect !!
