we has to start the restore of some email addresses tonight. it will be to take Orange until monday next to complete - accounts will return as 'deactivated'
My account was deleted yesterday. I have lost important information and the only method of communication with a large number of people and organisations.
My biggest gripe is that there was no warning prior to this happening - how difficult is it to send out an automated email. Fine, they no longer want to support our accounts but to do it like this is outrageous.
So what's the difference between these accounts and their Webmail accounts that you can subscribe to; presumably these are free and don't generate any money for Orange directly.
I had to ring technical support to get confirmation that my account had gone. I spent £2.50 to get this news! Perhaps this is just a wheeze to get people to ring the 50p a minute number.
So I am encouraged by UniRestore's posting but would be grateful if UniRestore could provide further information about the scope of the restore and whether all accounts will be included or whether I need to do anything to ensure my account is included.
Thanks to everyone who have helped to get it to this point. If this does get resolved in the coming few weeks then you have spared me a great deal of disruption and inconvenience.
It also amazes me how many people have nothing better to do than criticise in such a negative and insulting way. Yes we have to accept some responsibilty for what has happened and I will certainly be a little wiser after the event, but how does this help?
Further to you recent contact from Dan, I have taken this opportunity to update you on the actions we are taking to resolve your outstanding issues.
Our Technical Department are still investigating the possibilities of you regaining access to your email account and we are doing everything we can to rectify the problems.
Please accept my apologies for the continuing problems you are experiencing and rest assured we are doing everything possible to rectify the situation.
Further to my recent contact regarding your deleted email account, I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the situation.
I can confirm that our Technical Department are still currently working on a fix in order to resolve this issue, however we are hopeful your email address will be reinstated over the weekend.
Please once again accept my apologies for the inconvenience this has caused and be assured I will keep you updated with any further developments.
Yours sincerely
Michael Ramage

It looks like something is happening!
As long as I can get the emails then I will pick them up on Outlook then I will download them all to my pc and close the account and that will be the end of this sorry saga.
I hope they will make it pop available unike the fsmail account which cannot be accessed via Outlook.
you will only get all your email addresses back if you contact narrowband support who are having to log these. However all the contacts and emails will not be in there, all they are doing is restoring the accounts
Honeybee32, I know that you said that we will only get the email address reinstated but I have asked for all the information regarding the account including the emails, if they dont do that then I will have to press on with the DPA on them.

You will probably find that honeybee is talking a load of rubbish like earlier in the thread, it would obviously be totally pointless Orange recovering email accounts without the data.

I have to say I do agree with you on that, why reinstate the email address without the emails to go with it, Orange would be making themselves to look like fools if they do that in my opinion, mind you after what they have done already they do look like fools anyway!
