Over the past few weeks my Wanadoo/Orange broadband connection has become increasingly erratic, to the point where i have almost permanent 680 No Dial Tone errors.
Logged the problem with the Wanadoo helpdesk who made all the usual suggestions (reinstall software, check cables etc) and then performed a BT line check with identified no problems. As a result I'm no further forward and subsequent emails to Wanadoo/Orange have gone unanswered.
I've since worked out that the only way to maintain a connection is to have the BT phone line engaged. (I don't need to call anyone I just need to "lift the receiver"). While the phone line is engaged the broadband connection is fine - as soon as I end the call the broadband conection is lost and I'm back with the No Dial Tone errors.
Any suggestions as to how I can sort this out would be greatly appreciated.
Have you checked using both filters seperately as that can commonly be a filter problem. It one works and not the other then you have an answer, otherwise it's likely a line problem due to the phone stabilising the broadband signal.
