Ok, so I set up my livebox this morning. My mother signed up for this, got a free laptop with the offer im sure you know the one. Its the unlimited (HA!!!) package.
Im not amaaazingly knowledgeable on net connections but I definetly know enough. Ive read through other posts and theres similar problems but none seem to be quiiite like mine...this has baffled me...
The computer/router connects fine. No problems at all. But for some reason it seems to me like its 'blocking' certain objects/pages for a short period of time.
Other people have said this lasts for minutes...but mine is literally 3 seconds maybe. I hit refresh once or twice and baang its there very quickly (as if the connection is fine again).
The most confusing thing is download speed/msn/or anything else is uninterrupted. And upon testing...the connection is pretty damn fast. Ive turned ALL firewalls etc off and still the same thing. It only affects the browsing. Im assuming that this is something either to do with a setting on my computer/router or their servers.
Anyone know how to fix this?! Its driving me quite nuts to be honest. I want to avoid calling them if possible as from what people have said they seem pretty useless.
Oh yeah...and anyone else p*ssed off after installing the livebox your firefox browser turns into a glowing 17" orange billboard!!?
I had the same problem, the browsing was really slow but when I wanted to download something there were no problems at all. What I did:
1) updated the Livebox firmware
2) reseted the Livebox
Just go into settings (192.168.1.1), check Update Firmware or whatever the name is, then reset the box.
To reset: unplung everything (including power cable), leave the router like that for a minute or so, press AND HOLD the button marked as (1) on it, while keeping it pressed plug back the power cable, release the button. Wait 30 secs, plug in everything, wait a minute, go into settings again, type in your login and pswrd, connect. Voila.
Should work just fine.
