Just had a letter from Orange telling me that they have closed my account for non payment and that I owe them £32.99 yet I have a letter (after complaining to the ISPA) saying my account is closed at my request and I owe nothing.

Unfortuately there will be no day in court. I just had a call from Orange chasing up the payment. After I told them about my ISPA complaint and gave them their own reference number as listed on the letter they apologised and wiped the oustanding balance claiming 'an error on the computer'.
blah,, i'v spent 3 years trying to get rid of an Orange phone contract ,, sent to creditors, and i'v all the paperwork for proof they're wrong in a bill,.
they told me to post it to them,and i refused , so they just stuck me on the credit register, now i'm black-listed. the only way to win is to just go ahead and file for court proceedings ,,
the major conglomorites mostly win. we're all sc*e*ed
