The Livebox is working with a wired connection but my laptop (the £69.99 - Advent machine form PC World as part of the Orange offer) will not connect via wireless not matter what. I've tried WAP and WEP, WEP Only and No Security nothing will allow me to connect, is the problem with my machine or Livebox?
Are you sure you entered the key correctly? Copy it from the livebox page to make sure it's exact.
Press the 1 button so the antenna light flashes before trying to connect.
Try changing channel if that doesn't help.
Yep the key is entered correctly and still nothing - My desktop PC can connect via a USB wireless adaptor but the connection drops out every 2 mins. or so.
My Laptop (Advent 7211) is running Vista and desktop XP.
Could be failure in laptop's wireless function, what method does it use ?.......have you tried it with another router ?
My laptop can connect with limited access to other wireless networks in the area so I assume its working ok, although I have not yet tried it with another router.

Sounds like you may have tried this, but set WPA only as the encryption rather than both.
I've tried 'no security' and 'WEP only' + the default setting and none work.
As my Livebox works with a wired connection would it be possible to wire my Livebox to another wireless router which works with my laptop, or will this caus issues?

I know you've tried some of these but here is my full list that may help.
UNABLE TO CONNECT WITH WIRELESS:
Are you pressing Button 1 on Livebox to put it into pairing mode?
Press Button 1 on Livebox so the wifi light flashes. This puts livebox into pairing mode and you have 10 minutes to try and connect your wireless device . This only needs to be done once and then you should be able to connect every time .
I had to change security on Livebox to WEP only.
WEP key is case sensitive.
If security is an issue WPA is more secure, try WPA only.
You could also try Changing the channel. One recommended to try is channel 9. Try this first if you can not see the Livebox at all.
Another issue is if there are 2 programmes on the computer that you are trying to connect trying to control the wireless. Turn off the programme that came with the wireless card and use XP to control the connection.

I gave up with the 'Orange' CD and set about trying to set it up using Vista's own connection set-up pretty much right away.
