just been into PC World today, and spoke to the store manager.
he is calling Orange and his HO tomorro to see what they can do....
Best of luck. I guess the voucher will turn up next week while I am on 7 days hard graft & I'll be lucky to find the time to get over to the local PC World & pick up the laptop. I guess 4-5 days means next Friday anyway. I think I'll try a letter to try & get my pound of flesh out of Orange (like a free month or something). Working shifts means next time off is a week tomorrow anyway.
Hi All,
I am hoping someone here can help me. I reserved a laptop at my PCWorld store which happened to be an exdisplay. When the sales assistant run it through the computer it came up at a considerately lower price. The Sales Assistant said they would honour that price when I collect.
My letter has arrived and I took it to the same PCWorld store to collect. To my horror, the Store Manager said he would not honour that price (whilst laughing in my face) as it was a Reconditioned price and not an Ex Display price. To make things worse, the original sales assistant completely denied saying I would get it for that price (probably so he wouldn't get into trouble).
Is this the kind of tactics that PCWorld use to get people through the door?
I didn't get him to write it down as I thought it was a done deal (I thought you could still trust some people), but they seemed to know I wanted it for that price before I even mentioned it.
I am so angry, does anyone know if I have a leg to stand on and who I need to speak to??
Yeah but all emails and the like I have had have said 18 months, even said 18 months on the sign up I did on the Orange website in PC World, so there have no leg to stand on if they think I am committed to 24 months.
Of course they will honour it, even if I deleted the emails as the Orange signup page clearly stated 18 months
Thanks for triggering my brain cell. I keep nearly all e-mails bar Spam and took a look at the sign-up e-mail which reads:-
The legal stuff
When you joined you committed to a 18 month agreement. You can cancel before your broadband service is activated (we'll tell you by email when your service is live). Go to www.orange.co.uk/terms to check out the terms of use and to find out more about this and your rights as a customer.
6 months less to wait until I get a MAC from this shower.
I hadn't intended ringing Orange today BUT I've started getting e-mail for someone in Edinburgh so I thought I'd doublecheck that they had my details OK. Ho hum. A Ms Ann Johnson ajay AT my username will not be getting her railway e-ticket I guess .
Orange are now saying my account went active on 2/8/07.
Anyway they are resending the letter. I wonder. I still haven't received an e-mail from them.
