This is interesting. Nothing in today's post here. In case anyone from Orange is reading, my intention is to go back to the store I signed up at, once I get a day off (soon) and ask (in front of as many punters as possible) why it is taking so long and what are they going to do to put it right asap.
This seems to me to be a con to get you to sign up with Orange and then the letter doesn't arrive!
I signed up on the 19th July at Currys and got the letter on the 6th August. For those who haven't got the voucher, I'd personally threaten to cancel your contract / take the matter to independent bodies like the ISPA, and, Orange's favourite, BBC's "Watchdog". You have kept your end of the deal. 18 days took me to the edge.
By the way, as I was collecting the laptop, Currys were still telling me instore on the 6th that I was on a 24-month contract. I think "CurrysProblems.co.uk" should be next - they are the biggest cowboys about. I just love the way Orange and Currys have come together - it seems so natural. Let's see what Orange say in 18 months when I'm looking to move along - it'll be interesting.

Well it will be 19 tomorrow for me

I'm sad to say that in 18 months time I shall check on the position and by 24 months time I shall definitely have moved ISP unless I am given a very good reason to stay.

I already posted this to another thread, it is actually 24 months but if you have been told 18 then they will honor that.
Hi all, Just joined after spotting this thread and forum,
I can finally speak to other people about this free laptop problem!!!!
Ok, After seeing the "Free laptop offer" in PC World i decided to go in and join as it seemed a superb offer, went in on 21st July 2007 and picked my laptop, got the receipt, and PC World signed me up to Orange (i had to provide a MAC code to transfer from BT)
4 days before my Orange router arrived my BT internet connection went off meaning i was offline for the next 6 days which also annoyed me as its meant to be switched without loss of connection!
I was told by Orange and PC World that this laptop letter would be with me on the same day as the livebox and welcome letter, on the 1st August 2007 i got my livebox delivered via parcelforce, opened it up and no letter so rang Orange, orange then said it was sent seperatly and i should have it the next day,
Next day, nothing arrived so i gave them another call, orange then said i could go into PC World and get one of them to ring a place called "optima" to be given my code over the phone, went into PC World, they knew nothing about this and called Orange to be told that the letter should be with me in 3-5 working days, wasted journey!
so i waited for the next 3 days with nothing arriving so called Orange to be told i have to give it 5 days, waited 2 more days, nothing arrived, rang Orange,
I was then told they would have to send another letter and it could take upto 5 DAYS again!!!, this situation is driving me crazy, i would not have changed from BT to Orange if it wasn't for the laptop offer, pc world have told me they have had many many people coming in like me being told the wrong information by Orange, pc world don't even know whats happening!!!
orange also kept refusing to give me the broadband activation letter so i am very grateful to you for posting it on this site, i gave them a ring and they said the letter hasn't even been sent so have decided to send it today!!!!!,
activited offically on saturday (although it was working on friday) and got my letter today
so i had to wait 4 working day.
I'm pleased to hear that these letters do go out. Now is there anyone in particular to ring at Orange who might be able to get me my letter?
I'm now on Day 19 (signed up 21st).
I have fired off a complaint to the PC World customer service team. Anyone else?
