firstly i signed up for freeserve dial up years ago then as soon as i could get broadband in my area i went for that. 512k.. fine!... then to 1mb... fine!! and it was also fine up to 2mb.. but untill recently my parents stopped paying for the broadband because i was the only one using it and ive left college so i thought hey il pay for it and go for the 8mb liebox broadband unlimited....
i waited.....
12 days after ordering...(last thursday) the livebox came.. hooked it up ok with little problem....
untill i... went on youtube (as you do) and the pages were loading up so slow... and the videos wer taking forever to load up.. then i tried to download to see what happens... started downloading firefox.. and it was downloading at 15k a second maximum!! i mean wtf!! thats like coming on close to dial up.. whats that all about i thort i was upgrading not downgrading!!!
what on earth could be wrong? i dont understand if it could be my exchange because im about 400 metres down the road from it and its never been bad before...ive always had quite a good connection with good speeds..
i miss my downloads n online gaming and if it doesnt sped up soon and calling a hitman on the person who sold me it!!!!

Call Orange and get them to test your line to see if youre getting the max speed you can.
I did, said it will go from 2, to 4.5mb cos im a few miles from the exchange.
You've probably been put onto ADSL Max and sometimes the speeds can be a bit off during the first 10 days as this is the training period for the line.
The line stats from the livebox would indicate what line type you're on and what sort of speeds you'd be able to get at best.
You could also do a test at http://speedtester.BT.com/ to check your profile as that's a common stumbling block speedwise.
wow u actualli know more than the flamin call centre does!!!

hmmm now whats that all about....
Ok that test has good and bad news.
The bad news first, the line is currently limited to 135kbps or about 16KB download speed at best. This has actually nothing to do with Orange as it's the BT system that has limited it for some reason.
Now onto the good side. You're sync'd at the full maximum 8128kbps so once things settle out you should get pretty good speeds. The profile will be increased after 3 days of stable connection, though if still within the first 10 days it may not happen until the end of that.
Generally the problem should just correct itself unless you get a bunch of disconnections or big drops in sync speed.
It was probably just some minor issue when it was setup that caused a low sync event and triggered to to keep the profile low for the moment.

ooooo progress.... knowing my luck i bet it wont rise anymore..
