This is up from 112kbps yesterday will it last
This is Warrington Cheshire using I believe the Liverpool exchange LLU
This is Bacton Norfolk. Been checking my speeds for the last month twice daily. It's been a pathetic 0.129kps dowlnoad speed and 0.345kps upload speed on every occasion. I'm tired of the 'Our technical team are aware of the problem'. Being aware is ok but what about doing something about it!!!
You are all in a position to do something about the pathetic speeds you get off Orange - LEAVE!
I cannot understand why people put up with their excuse for a service.
There are so many decent ISP s out there.
I don't want to sound patronising and I know moving to aanother ISP scares some people but it is so easy.
I had a disconnection for Orange for 2 weeks and rang up and cancelled after all the excuses of 'line fault, ring back in 48 hours etc'.
You just ring up, get your MAC code (even if you are still in contract) and give this to your new ISP.
I flike me, you were sick of waiting for your MAC code you can also cancel.
This way means you have to waiti 10 working days for the tag to be taken off your line.
It's worth it though - I've never looked back since I moved.
There are many decent ISP s including Idnet that I'm with.
I know BE and Zen both have great reviews.
Don't hand your money over to a company that just robs and doesn't care.

I have done exactly that. On Sunday, my last day with Orange, I was getting a pathetic 386kbps download, typical of the service I have had for the last 6-8 weeks.
Today, I have BT Broadband. And my download speed is 5717kbps.
This is after the man on the Orange helpline told me I wouldn't get a faster service by switching ISPs.
what about if you still in contract you have to pay the charges yes? so its not as simple as you make out, i,ve tried i asked for my MAC code but they said i,m still in contract if i wish to leave i have to pay the remainder of my contract, how did you guys get out of that and what did you say to get them to give ur MAC code with out being penalised
The contract works both ways. You are paying them to provide you with a service. If they are unable / unwilling to provide this service, then they are in breach of the contract. I believe you have to give a reasonable amount of time to resolve any technical issues, but in this day and age, that's about 2 weeks, 4 at the maximum. Given that people have changed ISP, but kept the same line, shows that there are no technical faults with the line, only the "service" Orange provide.
