I changed my package from Broadband Max £27.99 to Broadband Unlimited £19.99 at the end of June 2007 which tied me in to a new 12 month contract.
Shortly afterwards on 1st July I lost my BB connection (rapid flashing @ light on Livebox and LINK DOWN status) and as I write this some 22 days later still have not got a resolution to this problem even after umpteen calls to the Tech Support people. I have now lost patience as Orange can not tell me exactly what the problem is or give me any ideas as to timescales to reolve the problem.
What I need to know is how long do I have to put up with NIL service before I can request a MAC code to leave this shoddy outfit even when under contract and how long will it take for them to remove their equipment from my line so that I can sign up with a proper ISP who actually listen to you and don't tell lies to or continually fob off their paying customers?
You can request a MAC wether your in contract or not they have to supply you with one by law within 5 days.
Thanks Steve. Will give it a go and see what more BS they can come up with. I'm actually starting to enjoy ringing them up to see what garbage they come out with next.
If your in contract and request a MAC then yes they have to provide it in up to 5 w/d days however they would bill you your cancellation fee...i found with tech, so long as there are notes on your acc showing the problem's been happening for 4 weeks or over then you can cancel without a cancellation fee...

Keep them garbaging for another 8 days and if they still haven't resolved the fault you should get your MAC with no cancellation charge.......worth another week's entertainment isn't it ?
