I have been speaking to various people at the customer centre as well as contacts at Orange and have found a way to get your MAC codes without having to pay for the remaining time of your contract. Its all about Orange Breaching their own terms and conditions for providing a reasonable service level in comparision to what the other ISP's have. Does the Law say that your service going down for more that 2 times a year for longer that 24 hours is reasonable? I dont think so. Is paying £19.99 for 1 or 2 Meg speed reason in a cost comparison? Certainly not! Call up Orange. Demand to speak to someone in the Bristol Call Centres? quote the above when asking for a MAC code and they have to give it to you! there is hope after all?

i tried this, and didnt work, the only way out is to wait a month for a 'diagnostic check' where they try everything possible to fix the speeds/downtime and only after they give in your free to go !
edit; and even at that, the indian call centres refuse to give you a check, instead using their scripted-pointless-waste-of-time troubleshooting steps, asking what version of windows you are using, ARGHHHHH
Unless you go through to mobile you'd be lucky to get through to bristol. It's apparently a relatively small team there who deal with broadaband issues and they're doing so as experience for "other things" from what I've read.
