Could anyone shed some light on this?
I am moving from Orange. I have my MAC and have given this to my new provider.
Do I need to give notice to Orange; i.e the 30 days needed, or does the MAC effectively do that?
If I need to give notice any idea as to how soon - I'm concerned that they may cease the line, but equally don't want to end up paying for another month with Orange *and* paying the new provider.
I'm not held to a contract with Orange (not that I know of) having been with them some years.
Thanks in advance
Adrian
PS I'm moving to ADSL24
I'm in a similar situation myself, and recieved the rudest reception from the person I spoke to about getting a MAC, I was so appalled at the way I was spoke to, I completely forgot to ask if I need to give notice!
I'm in a bit of a quandry, do I ring them and give notice? Or do I just cancel the DD after i've switched over?
I rang Orange to check on this, spoke to a helpful person (Edwin). He said that once your new provider starts your new adsl line they (Orange) will be sent the change of line notification by your new provider. This usually takes at least 2 working days to do. Once they receive this your 30 days notice starts and your account will be closed after that time.
