Pulling what little hair out I have left. I have waited 40 mins, no good. I know the problem is not the cable, network card or the belkin modem. I have tried changing the settings to pppoa but it asks me for a password which I never needed before with livebox. I enter the username and password anyway. But no change. The belkin modem router has a firewall would that affect it?
I have a Belkin ADSL Modem with High Speed Mode wireless - G router model no F5D7633-4. I looked at the Belkin link you gave me but it does not help. On the Belkin page that you get when you put 192.168.2.1 in IE, does not appear to have a way to change the MAC. It also says Internet status: not connected, though the lights say otherwise. I have two brand new modems, both the same and both are showing the same...Is the MAC code the next step. I appreciate the time and effort you guys are affording me...

Did you get a username and password when you joined Orange? or did you get a configured Livbox when u joined? You will need to put in your adsl username and password in the Belkin router smartwizard look Here and Here you will have it somewhere in the documents Orange sent you when you joined i am not familiar with the livebox as i didnt use it but im sure Keith or Elhana can tell you how to get to see your adsl username in th config pages but you will still need your password as well to get online with the Belkin.
My old Freeserve username had @fs on the end like in the links above.
Edited cocuments to documents LOL
