I have been on 8MB broadband for about 2 months now although BT said i can receive upto 6Mb fine with me.
I recently noticed that when I am running bit torrent my line becomes annoyingly slow about 150kb. so I stopped bit torrent and I started using speedtest.net to check my adsl speed. that was since yesterday, between yesterday and this morning i had ran about 10 tests. I was running one of the unfortunate test this morning around 4:00am and I got a result of about 6MB, immediately after the LIVEBOX restared and BOOM I have been downgraded to 2MB. I tried restarting the LIVEBOX again but all to no avail.
My previous ip was 90.240.151.154
ny new one is in the range 91.104.255.241 and 91.104.237.113.
I have called the technical support lady and she said there is nothing she can do about it.
Firstly we need to see what the connection details say in the livebox system information page. Mainly the Connection type, Attainable, Noise Margin, Attenuation, Upstream and Downstream rates.
I had to read your post simply because a speed increase of ' 2 Mb to 8 MB ' with Orange was something that couldn't be dreamed of!
It's always the other way round with them, bad to worse.
