Right, i seem to have had the same prob as most people who signed up to Orange.
i have been with freeserve/wanadoo now Orange for years and had nearly no probelms untill Orange have taken over. now when Orange tuck over i decided to ask for a livebox as i wonted a wireless connection which they gave me, and installed it no probs, and around that time b4 xmas i was able to recieve just under 8mb connection which i was very happy about. then late may i decided to take out a phone plan with Orange and pay £5 xtra to get unlimited broadband, at that point i decided to format my computer, and start a fresh, since then ive never been close to that speed again, ealry june i was getting speed test around 100kb and around there, for the past 2 weeks ive been gettting just under 4mb, and when its busy 1- 2 mb.
an intersesting point i wont to bring up from what i can remember i had a ip address starting with 84 before i formatted, now i can only get a 91 address. now i have a mate who was having simlar probs on a different exhange close to me but was able to get a 84 address and gets close to 8mb now, he hasnt tunred his live box off since( IP hogger)
i havent contaced Orange yet, after reading the threads on here, and i no there tec support is a indian call centre and all they do is read off the computer, which anyone can do, i no a fair bit about computers and broadband, so should i try tweating my settings with DR tcp is it ? and see if that helps, if so need advice on what settings to change, Or do i get in line and listen to Oranges lovely tunes, and talk to indian who aint going to do much apart from p**s me off ?
