Hi
I am at my wits end! My ISp was Wanadoo now Orange but I lost my broadband connection for ages and they did not help me do anything to bring it back so I asked for a MAC code so I could transfer to another supplier.
In the mean time a friend of mine got it going again and service is working fine.
Called Orange back to cancel MAC code and becos of all the trouble thay offered me a deal of 6 mos free etc... wireless etc.... which I said yes to.
Next thing I know get a letter saying that they were unable to generate a MAC code becos of a Cease request (what is one of those?) and that they are no longer my ISP. I still have my broadband working , they are still taking their money, so who is my ISp?
They will not send out the Livebox either as I do not exist!
Does anyone know how I can find out exactly who is providing my Broadband?
A vey frustrated and fedup

Well cease requests take time to go through so it can be working up until the point it actually is ceased.
There are 2 types of ceases:
Broadband cease, where the ISP requests the broadband line ceased, which could have happened when you called them, it should of closed the account so you'd need to check with them on that.
2nd type is a PSTN cease, sometimes when details are updated with BT or there's bill issues with them they turn off your phone line. Sometimes just a straight off and on where you don't even notice can cause this. That off time means a PSTN broadband cease is ordered and it then goes through and your broadband disappears some days later. You should be able to check this with either BT or Orange.
