Posted this on the Orange forums but no replies so thought I'd try out here too:
I've had about two months of acceptable service with download speeds of 300-400KB/s and not excessive disconnects on the 8mb unlimited package. However a few days ago my bandwidth seemed to evapourate and I can now only attain speeds of 16-30KB/s downloading; making surfing the web etc quite tedious.
I have checked all the obvious causes such as filters, modem, firewall, cables, phones to no avail, no matter what I swap/in out equipment wise the problem remains. I'll post my line stats in the hope someone can read into them something I can't.
It has been on interleaved for some time now without previously causing such a drop in speed so I doubt this is the reason, I have noticed my downstream rate has dropped from around 6000kbps to 4000kbps over the past week.
Any help is appreciated.

Speedtest.net informs me I have 263kbps DL and 228kbps UL.
Moving to a real ISP will cure your slow speeds - Orange are not that.
I moved to Idnet last September and immediately my speed was fine and has never disconnected once.
Run through a test and see what the IP Profile is, it's probably very low, close to your current download speeds.
If so it means something happened to cause it to push it down. A short period of very low sync, lots of disconnections, etc.
However it's automatic so it should change the profile up, if it stays stable, within about 3 days.
You're right I forgot to check my profile and it was at 250k, pesky rate adaptive broadband. Obviously something went wrong on the network causing my signal to drop a lot more than usual (since discovered a lot of Loss Of Signal errors logged), perhaps the bad weather, who knows.
Anyway recycled the power on my router and left the connection alone for a couple of days and so far so good, up to a profile of 4500k although getting no where near the dl speeds that would suggest. I assume the speed will rise in time.
