I connected to Orange Livebox (corded not wireless) about 2 weeks ago. It worked ok for about a week with no problems at all then suddenly my B.T landline phoneline went dead (not the talk phone as thats not been connected yet and i'm not plugging any phones into the livebox its my normal landline phone).
I rang B.T and they tested the line and said they think its nothing to do with them but its in our property. I took out the 2 filters we've got and unplugged everything. Plugged another phone into the B.T phone point and the phone didnt work. The next day it was working again and was ok for another few days. Then yesterday the phone line went dead again (no dial tone just a load of crackling). B.T are coming out on Monday to check it out.
Has anyone else been having the same problems as i'm not sure if its to do with a fault on our phoneline or to do with Orange Livebox???
Its very strange because even though we cant get a dial tone I can still connect to Orange Broadband (occasionally it disconnects or is slow but mostly works). I thought it would only work through the phoneline? I've got the modem lead plugged into the phone line from the Orange livebox into the filter into the phone point.
If anyone can help i'd be very grateful.

Even though the land line phone does not work it is quite common for the broadband to still work.
Suggest you remove everything from telephone sockets and plug one phone in through a filter to see if the phone works then. If not try a different phone and filter.
If you have BT supplied NTE5 master socket remove the bottom half and plug filter into test socket. If that works ok then you have an internal wiring fault.
Thanks for the reply Keith, we've tried everything you've said and it still doesnt work. Also today we've noticed we keep losing broadband connection so I think its definately to do with our B.T phoneline. Will find out what the engineer says tomorrow ....
