Can anyone help me? I have called Orange customer services and technical 8 times. 4 times I was told all I have to do is buy a router from Orange £24.99. Then I get through to the technical department and they tell me it is not possible to run a second computer with broadband starter and I will have to get a live box which I don't want to do because from what I've read it's a nightmare and that they don't even sell these routers. Even though previously I have even been quoted the price by Orange for the router. I am so confused. My contract runs out in November, would I be better just to go elsewhere? By the way, I don't think my pc is wireless enable either, although I believe it's just a matter of getting an adaptor.

Orange are talking rubbish all they are trying to do is to get you to change your package to lock you into another 12 month contract.
All you need is a router to connect a second computer most routers allow 4 wired pc's and as many wirelessly as you like no matter what package you are on, and yes if your second pc is not wireless enabled you will need a wireless adaptor you can get one for as low as £20, are u using a USB modem at the moment?

Hi Carol
You will need to buy a wireless router in my opinion Netgears are one of the easiest to configure and get up and running and like you said in your post you will need a wireless adaptor for your second pc to be able to connect to the router the places best to purchase these are online broadband stores heres a few links to check out. DSL Source ,
Broadbandbuyer and Broadbandstuff .
Hope this helps.

Hi Steve,
I looked into the cost of wireless routers and think my best option is to wait til November and change ISP and get a free one. I can live without the internet for a few months over the summer I'm sure.
I appreciate all the info and help and feel very slightly more knowledgeable as a result. It is a scary world out there when you're technically challenged!
