At about 00:30 last night, my dialtone dropped and the ADSL light on my
modem was blinking. I thought: "At last! My LLU kit swap or reconfig!".
The above test result is my first one after powering up my PC this morning.

Good morning atce,
You must feel more gutted than if you'd not received the LLU speed
upgrade at all! Perhaps it's a temporary decrease whilst the LLU is
being reconfigured at your exchange.
I guess it's no consolation to you, but I'm now pegged at ~ 4 Mbps
on a clean phone line < 1/2 km from my exchange (Leytonstone).
I should get keithwjones-type LLU speeds (>= 6 Mbps).
It would be useful if forum members could mention their exchange
when giving speed updates, so we could see Orange's pattern of
misbehaviour geographically.

Just a thought, how much of your monthly download limit do you use?

Yes, I meant the ad hoc speed bulletins that members raise in this topic,
as distinct from the new OP.co.uk speed database. I take your point
though, as that database should now be the definitive reference.
I posted several entries in the database, but stopped for now because
my speed is now constant at 4000 +/- 200 kbps.

Well no, I think the point is to compile a database which shows speeds by regions then that is a definitive reference. There's no gain in just recording poor speeds if those results are in just one region (say North Scotland).
I now record speeds twice each day, one off-peak and one peak (I'm seeing consistent speeds of 5500+.
Last Wednesday when there was a local blip, I recorded about 6 speeds which showed the dip, the bottoming out then the increase back to 5500+

I rarely use above 2GB.

Evening Keith,
I'm a light downloader and only occasionally stream or download for
entertainment purposes. I've never metered my download usage because
of this: I expect not to exceed 2GB in a month.
I think my phone line is clean with pukka wiring and filters because my
Speedtouch connection session never shows errors and the Speedtouch
driver diagnostics are also clean. I did ask on the forum a while ago
if members saw your level of speed increase with a modem instead of a
Livebox, but no-one replied. I guess I was premature with the question
because the Chosen Ones were a small minority then.
So, does anyone who uses a modem now see ~ 6-7 Mbps after their LLU
upgrade? Or is it just the router people?
