OK, can you please expand "NO" into something more technical ?
That is why I posted the question on the "Talk Technical" section.
Why is it that most posters on this forum that have been upgraded need to modify their MTU/RWIN settings to see the true benefit of the upgrade ?
For example, I was upgraded without my knowledge in November 2006 from 2meg to 6.5meg. It wasn't until I changed MTU/RWIN last month that I saw 5.5meg connection
I dont get my full sync speed, but changing my MTU doesnt help, and when i do a tweak test it tells me my default (current) settings are fine, but when i change them it tells me theres loads of problems.
Well i sync at about 5300kbps and the highest i usually get is about 4.6meg, so im not really sure why i never get anywhere near my sync speed, but changng mtu settings never helped
You have to be realistic because the length and condition of your line come into play. No one is going to get a speed of 8000.
On fixed 1Mb and 2Mb lines changing the MTU/RWIN could increase your speed and it was fairly easy to see because there was not so much fluctuation in speed as there is now. But then most people did not have BB.
Well i was on 2meg, got upgraded to max, then llu, but changing my mtu settings doesnt seem to change anything, just makes dslreports tweak test tell me i need to change my RWIN =\

Exactly the same as me.......only because Orange didn't communicate with me, I don't know if I went from 2meg to MAX then LLU or direct to LLU.
All I know is that on 14 November 2006 I began noticing speed and connection problems, this continued until May 2007 when I used dslreports and modified my MTU/RWIN to their current settings. Since that day I have experienced no problems until Wednesday 6 June, when connection speed dropped from 5500 gradually to <500 before returning to 5000 late evening. Orange have denied any problems existed on that day in Bristol (or Weston-s-Mare which was also affected).I wish I had known the existence of this : http://www.nildram.net/support...n_checker/
at the time. Perhaps I could have proved a problem.
