Confirms pretty much what my livebox says and most speedtest websites...so not much further...we are a ADSL Max service just dont see why we get such a low speed still.
Thanks for info, looking this page it looks like there is line fault if go by my stats, I guess the best thing to do is call Orange again and request a line check again.

The first 10 days of Max is the training period where it finds the most stable rate.
What I suggest is that you leave the Livebox on, and after 3 days your profile should increase to 2500 providing that the connection is solid and does not keep dropping. After that you could in theory get it up to 3000.
There is a problem known as a stuck BRAS profile. Where data rate is stuck at 2000. You will need to contact Orange and ask them to reset your BRAS profile. I would do this if your profile does not rise after 3 days solid connection.
As keith said it's down to the profile, it's always purposefully lower than the downstream rate the livebox says. Ideally you should be able to get upto 3 meg but it does depend on a few things.
If you're within the first 10 days on ADSL Max then you need to wait it out as speeds and profile limits during that time can be normal and normally cure themselves.
Providing the connection is stable, few if any disconnections and the downstream rate stays pretty constant. then the profile should be raised in 3 days.
If it varys between 3500 and 4500 then that could explain things, each time you have a different rate it means the connection has been dropped and had to be re-established, that with a wide variance like that could easily make the system knock the profile down a notch or so.
It could be worth checking your house phone wiring, a fix to that could make a difference and allow the connection to maintain a higher rate and then the profile would go up.
Ok so this BT's Test Results, i understand the fact your actual rate will be lower than the stated line rate but by alomst 1.5 Meg?!?! - sounds like a stitch up to me, or is this excess normal?
BTW I've my router plumbed directly into the test socket and have removed the 'extention wiring' from the back of the main socket as this seem to improve the rate both ways.
What you recon on all of this?
Thanks in advance.

It can be depending on the stability of your line.

A sync rate of 3712, slightly down on your initial rates but not abnormally so, gives a maximum profile of 3 meg. Another minor drop of 300+ kbps would make the system drop the profile to 2.5 meg which is what you have now. That sort of drop only needs to happen once every Three days to limit you to 2.5 meg.
It's not ideal but your line appears to be acting normally.
