I type this from the loveliness that is a none Orange broadband connection!
Despite a rather awkward transfer period where Orange failed to give me a MAC code and when eventually parted with one, cut me off 2 days earlier than my new account started, far too much time on the phone trying to understand a chap in another country who in the end I hung up on - I got away.
I have cancelled my direct debit with them too, as I have a sneaky feeling they would of kept going taking money.
I am now with Madasafish and am happy to report they work well........they connect straight away without 20 minutes worth of pressing connect anyway - so definetly an improvement!
Really pleased to hear you're free from the nightmare Orange.
Everybody, including myself, who moves from Orange to a real ISP gets a solid & fast connection.
This just proves that Orange's common excuse of 'a line fault' is nothing more than a lie.
Orange do not deserve any customers as they care about none of them.
A little update................turns out I was right to cancel my direct debit. Orange have just emailed me asking for my new account details, and if I don't pay then they will charge me a 5 pounds lateness fee.
Now, I can ring them up at 7p a minute cost to myself to passed around India to people I can't understand, or I can let them waste their time emailing me fruitlessly over an account that no longer exists.............its a tough call, but I think im going to let them figure it all by themselves
