Because of changes that Orange have been implementing, the settings that used to work on your computer, probably now don't and that's why you are experiencing problems.......but don't expect Orange to tell you this.
That is info taken from a DNS lookup. The 7 IP addresses below are the 7 Orange primary SMTP servers. Pick one of those and put that in instead of your SMTP server address. Change it until you find one that works. Not a fix but atleast a half decent work around.
We found those to be the most consistant the ones which do work should work all the time, but i guess they are taken down for maintenance etc etc from time to time
