SWMBO says since we were upgraded to Max that she can't access it , but I can't see how that would be the case. The page just times out for me

Also, if I navigate to a non existent website, I get an Orange "Sorry, the page you were looking for cannot be found" page. Does this mean Orange are using transparanent caches and is there a way of using another one? I suspected something was going on when someone was putting up some beta software for me to test, and there always seemed be a delay in me seeing the new version

Sorry to bump this, but the problem I am getting about stale copies of webpages or new beta code not available, will this be cured by using a manual proxy. If so, what settings do I use

Also I will try that openDNS to see if it cures the website we can't access

I can't access www.britfilms.tv or www.ryanair.com.

I'm not an expert but i thinks it's something to do with the IP address Orange assign you when you connect.

The reason I say this is because if my IP address start with 84 i can't access the above websites but if my IP start with 91 I have no problems.

As for why one IP address works and one doesn't I haven't got a clue. Maybe somebody more techie could shed some light on this?

I've Checked MTU settings and adjusted accordingly even though everything was working fine with the original settings up unti a month ago.

Also changed to OpenDNS

Now I can access www.ryanair.com (although it is very slow to load- approx 2mins)

But I still can't access www.britfilms.tv

Orange must have screwed something up at their end because as I've said everything worked fine up until a month ago.

Strange indeed....I used the 2 links you included in your post and got instant access to the 2 sites.

What are your MTU and RWIN settings ?

Currently I'm using MTU 1430 and RWIN 166800 (55600 is also OK), I'm consistently seeing 5500kbps on speedtest.net

My settings are MTU 1458 RWIN 153144. I changed to your settings and rebooted the PC but it made no difference. I Still couldn't access britfilms.tv

What is the IP address on your livebox. Does it begin with 84.xxx.xxx.?
