Had to go through at least 15 different IP pools before I got a fast one.
Disconnect/reconnect speed test, disconnect/reconnect speed test and so on till you find one with the max speed for your line... weird but works for me.
Nearly all of the connections I was getting could barely manage 512 kbps !! The one I got now is at 6mb and I will be hogging it for sometime as long as things don't disconnect on their own.
Thanks for this, I played around with the router testing different ips and got one that dl'ed at 6700kps vs the other crap ive been suffering with @ 300kps.
IP starts with 84 and I'm getting 4.5mb at 6pm!
Usual was around 250kb at this speed and I only had to reconnect 3 times for it to pick up. How long do you keep an IP address for?
We seem to be getting somewhere. A shame, because I was hoping it would stay crap long enough for me to ditch these suckers as their contract would be void.
FFS I had to reconnect 20 times today to get a decent speed, everything was 300kbps or so anyway after 20 finaly got this on a 62.#.#.# 81's and 84's were beyond slug slow:
Orange sucks
Can you guys please explain exactly how you reconnect with different addresses? I'm desperate to fix this rubbish speed. My 'free' 8M is fine around 7am but always about 500k in the evening (anytime you actually want to use it!!). It was ok-ish before the LLU change too. This company is going to go pop like Enron, hopefully
Log onto your livebox via the webpage http://configuration.adsl/
The very first page after logging in gives you the service status on Internet, phone and liveprinter.
Press the button change next to internet and then click disconnect. Then do the same thing again clicking reconnect. Then test your speed, repeat until a good speed is reached.
