Well im having a normal latency in the nights after 2300 around 50 to 100, same goes for before 1600, but between 1600 and 2300 it usualy goes to 400 to 2000
It's really unplayable, this problem has occured a few weeks ago happening every day, didn't have any other problems for 5-6 months.
I didnt have any upgrade or whatsoever in the past months.
here's some of the system info's
----------------------------------------------------
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 10.9
Attenuation (dB) : 34.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 9568
ADSL status : Connected [0]
Downstream Upstream
Rate (kbps) 8128 288
WAN IP address : 91.105.225.243
Gateway : 91.105.192.1
Primary DNS server : 193.36.79.101
Secondary DNS server : 193.36.79.100
This goes for internet too, speedtest gives me around 30-50kb between that time, downloading @ night after 2400 goes at 800 kb/s (with DAP)
Anything to fix this?, I've tried resetting livebox and all other stuff but nothing helps
(Im using livebox + SpeedTouch USB wireless lan stick)
a tracert doesnt help much, since it doesnt explain why Orange's webspeed is slow aswell, its not WoW, its Orange. because in the nights its fine both web and wow, but peaktime its both slow (so WoW not at fault in my opinion, something with Orange because else the webspeed shud be like 800 kb/s and wow should be slow, which isn't theyre both slow!)
well hope its fixed next week (tried to bb4 thing , im getting synchronised but nothing happens further) anyways ill try to mail them next week to change mine to bb4 gateway orso.
Oh thank god i am not alone!!! I've just started to play wow on the US servers from the UK (used to play on the euro servers with no problems) I've been getting a ping of about 350 on average but going up and down all the time, reaching 1000 or above.. sometimes even something really silly like 9000
And like others i have noticed it happens mostly at around 18:00
I have tried reinstalling windows... got a computer expert over to check my router and firewall settings.. opened all the ports that wow needs, even bought a new phone cable incase that was damaged, And still the massive lag remains. I got in touch with Orange and after about 20 really annoying calls talking to some people from india who cant even speak english, i came to the conclusion that Orange just really suck! I have cancled my account but i cant seem to get my MAC code of them... any advice on how to get!?
Yep, same here. It started to happen on May 9th after the maintenance - which with Blizzard usually messes things around - and whilst EVERYONE had lag for a while, now it's just Orange customers it seems. 3 of our guild are on Orange, and we're now the only ones who are lagging, with (on average) 400ms best latency up to 5000ms+. It only seems to happen at peak times like you guys, though weekends are pretty bad too - meaning the only time I can play is when I'm at work, which isn't going to happen!
Still have 6 months left on my contact, but I'm about fed up with this. Appaling latency, slow browsing, and a phone service that works once every fortnight when there's a full moon.... just great.
Guys, same here. Lives in london. LLU wandsworth exchange and can't play WOW because of very low speed in the evening from 5pm (like 56k modem) !!!!!!
tried to contact Orange support but said nothing wrong.....stuck with 11 months contract !.
I feel really sorry for you people with time still left on you're contract, i guess you will just have to wait it out, unless you can say they have not lived up to thier end of the contract by not giving you a 2 meg or 8 meg service like they said they would, and maybe you could sue them or something. Luckly my contract ended ages ago so i canceled yesterday.
But i want my MAC code.... i'll try again today, wish me luck lol
Right lads, I had the same problem as you, and the irony is you will all have a Major Line Fault. I had one, took them a week to fix it, but it has indeed sorted out most latency problems.
Having the EXACT same problem here guys, thought I was the only one, going abit insane now =(
I'm on wireless livebox also and my latency and gameplay is fine until it gets to peak hours, it is now totally unplayable and like others started about 2 weeks ago.

I have the same problem, started about April last year and the game is unplayable from 17:00 - 18:00 to 22:00 - 23:00 with a ping which is very often over 1k.
It seemed to have subsided more or less about 6 weeks ago, but it returned about 3 weeks ago seemingly worse than it was before.
I'd be supried if they fix this in the next week because it has been an ongoing problem for over a year. Thankfully I won't be with this piece of junk isp much longer and I advise you all to take the same steps if you want to play wow with the same latency as luckier people.
