I have decided to give Orange the boot as I can no longer stand the poor speeds and constant lack of conection. So I request my MAC code (which They provided in a couple of days) give it to my new provided (Sky) who then write to me a tell me its an invalid code. I am now in a circular argument wit hOrange and Sky. Orange are adamant that the code is correct and wont give me another one for a month, and Sky are adamant that its incorrect (they have sumbitted it twice). So can anyone tell me who to believe???????

From my somewhat limited experience I would suggest that you dispense
with the migration process and just cancel your Orange account. Use dial
up evenings and weekends only until your line is released and then sign
up to a new provider. I just think that Orange represent the very worst
in our society with respect to predatory businesses practices. It just
seems so wrong to me that their executives can sit down and formulate
practices that rip people off in such a mercenary manner with their
highly paid corporate lawyers advising them on how to stay just one step
ahead of the law in this respect.
I really wouldn't go along with cancellation, regardless of downtime you may also find yourself paying for the reactivation of broadband on your line. Not all the MACs given out by Orange are invalid, I migrated with the first one I was given.
