I get my broadband free as I'm an existing Orange mobile customer. I'm now absolutely fed up with the appalling internet connection that Orange are providing me. Since I don't pay anything for my broadband, would I be right to assume that I could cancel my contract anytime I wanted and Orange couldn't try to claim anything back from me? I would still have the Orange mobile contract, so Orange would still be making the exact same money from me.

I'm working off the same idea. Normally, when you try to terminate a contract early, they make you pay the remainder of the contract. Given that you pay £0.00 a month for your internet access (which is more than it's worth, in my opinion) you'll have to pay back however many months you have left on your contract at £0.00. Knowing Orange, they'll probably invent some charges, though.
The phone call to attempt to cancel my broadband contract will be made tomorrow night. I've had enough of barely being able to use the internet (it's taken over 10mins to post this) and will now take it all the way. I'm now more than happy to pay something for a decent, reliable broadband connection.

Please keep us posted on how you get on. I'm in the same position as you and plan on doing the same thing. I'm going to return my Livebox to Orange first before I ask for my MAC, just to stop them throwing that back at me.
