Back online after nearly 4 weeks but the speed is really slow...less than 1mbs. Don't have the stats on me to post up cos I'm at work, but how can you tell what the line is capable of achieving? I've gone to www.speedtest.net and it gives me the download/upload speeds, but I'm not sure what I should be looking at to determine what I should be achieving.
As a guide, if you can find the downstream synch speed on your router - but this assumes no contention etc. e.g. I am getting about 25-50% of what my synch speed is.
Can somebody please help me interpret these stats for me? I got an email from Orange saying my upgrade to 8mb was successful (pfftthh!!) but my stats say I'm getting less than 1meg. What should I be getting?

Does this mean my line should be capable of downloading 8meg, cos it's not on either of our computers. It's a very intermittent connection!
