Hope someone can help me before I lose the will to live! I've been with Wanadoo since Dec 05 and had no problems (apart from very short periods of downtime) but since Orange took over it's been a disaster and my latest problem seems impossible to fix. Broadband connection went down on 15th April and has been intermittent ever since. I've made dozens of phone calls to technical support and customer services and had numerous line tests carried out. The problem gets fixed, but only for a few days or sometimes a few hours, then I lose connection again. No one ever gives me the results of the line tests or tells me what the problem is, BT can't help as they say it's Orange's problem. Orange lie to me about when I called them, lose line test requests, keep telling me to call back in 24 hours, 48 hours, and now 5 days!! It's been a week now since my last line test was supposed to be carried out, someone promised I'd be called about it last Weds, but now they're telling me it will be next Wednesday! I'm paying £17.99 a month for 8mb but they've downgraded me to 2Mb as they thought that might fix the problem (ha ha). They've sent me a new modem which didn't work, promised to send another one but that hasn't appeared (after two weeks) and I've basically got nowhere after almost a month. They've connected me to pay as you go dial up but of course I have to pay for every minute I'm on line for that. They say they'll refund the cost if i send in my phone bill, but that'll be a complete joke trying to get the money back from them no doubt. I really am at the end of my tether with them - is there anyone else living in the Wandsworth area with similar problems? Can anyone recommend a decent ISP I could move to?
Theres numerous ISP's which will gladly appreciate your customs and in return will provide a service you expect. Hopefully you are out of contract so it's a matter of sizing up what ISP's are suitable for you.
Pick an ISP in the top 5, tbh any other ISP is better than Orange (apart from Talk Talk, Orange and Talk Talk are almost synonymous) . You don't need to put up with that sort of service, no one does.
