Hi guys
This is the earliest I could post back I am afraid as OrangeProblems.co.uk is not a full-time job for me (although it is fast becoming one!)
We contacted the Orange Press Office (as per our previous post) last night via the Orange Press Office email address...
And today, we heard..... NOTHING!
However, the fslife.co.uk email addresses should now be working (it does take time for all servers to pick up the new DNS settings - usually within 24-48 hours). At least the DS server records have been configured correctly now...
BUT... Those with an orangehome.co.uk email address are not so lucky. After just checking these DNS records, the MX records are still not configured! So you will have to wait 24-48 hours PLUS the time it takes somebody at Orange to change the DNS records.
We have also been in touch with a few other organisations who have also contacted Orange and who have also not had a reply!
Please let us know if you an fslife.co.uk Orange customer and whether your emails are now working!
I have had no contact in response to 5 e mails I have sent to Orange.
It was down for over 36 hours I believe - yet they never showed this on their website - neither - apparently - were their technical support aware of there being any problems.
Morning Admin
still problems see below
Thanks again for what you are doing for us all with Orange email prob
Bob
Task 'pop.freeserve.com - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
I am certainly now getting some e mail coming through - and accounts at Yahoo and hotmail seem able to get through. However - there still seem to be problems from some other ISPs including BT.
I suppose this ties in with the delays before all gets back to normal predicted above?

UPDATE
As at 9.15 Yahoo sent mails are now being returned again as domain not found, so whatever solution was being rolled out seems to have failed
I have a domain (dddd), and I forward all of my mail to my xxxx@xxxx.wanadoo.co.uk account. In my mail client I have a rule which files each email into a seperate folder e.g. aaaa@dddd goes into my aaaa folder) and a catchall rule for stuff which isn't catered for, so nothing should drop through
Last week I changed my email address for tomtom from ssss@dddd to tttt@dddd. They then sent an email which was sent to ssss and tttt in the "to" field. I received the ssss message but not the tttt one. So I am not sure if that's a fault of wanadoo or not. I did a test to the tttt@dddd account from gmail and got a bounce back (although I've not kept the message now). A later test to my tttt@dddd address was file, and other tests sent to <garbage>@dddd were correctly filed in my catchall folder
Because the email from tomtom was sent to both addresses at the same time, but I only received one, then I can't work out whether this was a fault with wanadoo or my email forwarding. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences
COPY OF EMAIL SENT TO Orange
For the last 2 weeks or so I have not been able to send email from outlook.
I have been informed that there is a problem at Orange
see the many forums telling you Orange and asking you to correct or at least keep us informed as to the position of this service.
I HAVE BEEN WITH FREESERVE/WANNADO/ORANGE FOR OVER 6 YEARS
UNLESS SOMETHING IS SORTED OUT SOON I WIL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT company
Hi - hve had problems sending emails for some weeks but didn't realise till today that it wasn't my or my PC and more likely something Orange were up to/or not up to. Having googled my error message I see loads of people having same problem. Mine reads:
Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Worked fine 3 times this 'aft then ceased sending messages. Incoming ok so far.
Emailed Orange and awaiting answer but not hopeful from what the rest of you have said.
"Ask Jack" has commented on this. See his article from last Thur's Guardian.

Haven't tried it yet - has anyone else. Some people are saying change the port to 26.
Haven't tried it yet - has anyone else. Some people are saying change the port to 26.
Why would that work?
SMTP has a well know port number of 25. Pop3 has a well know port number of 110. When email has to be delivered by a remote mail system to fslife.co.uk or similar it will go for port 25 because thats what everyone uses and what the RFC's state.
Any other port indicates something is seriously broken.
Well I am back to not being able to send ANY emails at all now via Orange. I used to be able to send them at various times during the day, but now I cant send ANY!!!!!!!
Thank God for Gmail/Googlemail, which works perfectly through Windows Mail (Vista OE replacement)
Most of this afternoon I was unable to send emails in Outlook Express, then miraculously just after 6pm I successfully reconnected to OE.
Not wishing to disparage the Orange IT staff, but I do wonder whether they really know what they're doing. From experience I know that certain IT "professionals" make system changes but do not test those changes. When this happens with ISP servers.........????
