Hi,
My mum (I'm 15) upgraded to Orange 8Mb internet from Wanadoo 1.1Mbps around a month or so ago, without informing me. (She knows sweet FA about PC's etc.)
Ive connected and waitied for the 10 day testing period but I'm still getting very very slow speeds. Its like im still on 1.1Mbps connection (seriously)
These are the stats that my Livebox give:
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 7.6
Attenuation (dB) : 63.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 2880
ADSL status : Connected [0]
And these are the 'Broadband Availability' test results summary:
Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
However, your line is currently unbundled by an LLU operator such as Be, Bulldog or Easynet (SMPF LLU). Moving to another provider may require a cease and re-provide, which may result in loss of service for up to two weeks.
The following services are available in your location:
You're on LLU, unless 1meg is enough for you- cancel and migrate to a superior ISP. Orange will never give you any indication as or when your speed is likely to 'improve'.
Should I call CS/India, and ask them to change my line? Or should I ask to cancel my subscription as I dont think its been a month yet...
They won't change your line to ADSL Max. Also for the upto 8 meg service, unless you're on the £5 service with mobile and change to free before cancelling then they'll want you to pay off the remainder of the contract.
