just got an email from ISPA in response to an online complaint about Orange that i made to them:
Quote:
For an ISPA complaint to be valid the complainant has to contact the ISP
directly and allow the ISP 10 working days to resolve the complaint. Orange
have informed ISPA that your online complaint was processed within 10
working days of your initial complaint to Orange.
Therefore, your complaint is invalid. Please allow 10 working days since
your original complaint to Orange before processing an online ISPA
complaint.

Amazing. I got this exact same response, but it was because I complained on the 10th day rather than after. Did you wait 10 working days?
no i didnt. been down since last saturday. but being a web designer by trade i really cant afford to hang around for 2 working weeks. ordered my MAC code yesterday as i've had it up to here with them.

Fair enough, I rely on broadband for my online study...kinda hard without being online. But ISPA won't deal with your complaint unless it's been 10 working days...no ifs or buts. So you'll have to submit your first complaint again.

This seems to be a standard response from the ISPA, you have to remember the ISPA are paid for by ISP's, they are a trade body looking after the interests of it's members not a consumer body like Ofcom.
Forget the ISPA and get straight onto Ofcom instead, I can't find the phone number off hand, but just stay on the line and talk to a person instead of one of the recorded messages, make sure at the end of the call you get a ref No, give Ofcom as much amunition as you can against Orange as they say they can't help on a personal level, but keep calling them every few days and they will intervene on your behalf.
