I have wireless Orange broadband set up. Everything was working ok, but when I logged onto it yesterday, it came up with a bubble saying 'Network Cable unplugged'. I've since checked the cables and everything is where it should be, but still the message comes up and I'm unable to connect to the internet. Any ideas? I've searched the site for a similar problem but was unable to find anything related to a Network cable being unplugged..

Im not sure exactly whats what with your set up but if its a wireless icon in your system tray right click on it and choose repair, if its a wired (ethernet) connection right click the icon and choose repair also that usually solves it if its has all of a sudden started to happen.
Regards

Resist the temptation to fiddle with your bits until you've checked with Orange. My connection went down through their incompetence on April 24th and I am greeted with the same message. The problem is almost certainly not at your end.
Network cable unplugged is in reference to an ethernet connection between the PC and livebox. It has nothing to do with the actual phone line or internet connection what so ever.
If you are on a working wireless connection and have no physical wired connection between the computer and livebox then that's normal in effect. There is an option you can try to get rid of the message.
Open network connections through the control panel,
Look for the local area connection,
Right click and select properties,
Untick the box at the bottom saying notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity,
Ok it and close off any other windows.
